Jay Sean Lands in NYC, Dubs Cash Money 'The Hottest'

Jay SeanCash Money's newest acquisition, London-bred R&B singer Jay Sean, put on a private show in New York City last night to officially announce his arrival on U.S. soil.

Despite global success, Sean has not yet seen an official American release. His U.S. debut, 'All or Nothing,' is due November 24 via Cash Money. Before launching into his set, he appeared with Cash Money CEOs, Birdman and Slim at his side to be honored as a #1 Billboard Top 100 artist, a status achieved with his hit single, 'Down' featuring Lil Wayne.

Sean kicked off his Gotham performance with 'Ride It,' the catchy song that landed him his new record deal, followed by acoustic and studio versions of 'Down,' then offered a preview of his next single, "Do You Remember," which features Sean Paul.

The BoomBox caught up with Jay Sean and asked him how he felt about his new position in the Cash Money empire. "Are you kidding me?" he said. "Cash Money is the hottest label around now. They've got 25 percent of the top 20 Billboard songs at the moment. They've got four songs in the top 20 at the moment, and that's just an amazing achievement. They just don't stop working and they're what's happening right now."

After seven years in the business, Sean said that he feels primed and ready to conquer American audiences. "I hope in a year from now, people can put my name in the same sentence as -- 'Oh, you know, I'm really into Ne-Yo, Justin, Jay Sean and Usher' -- that's where I want to be at," he said.

For his upcoming album 'All or Nothing,' Sean said he has a few exciting collaborations in store, including the new single with Sean Paul. "You've got the whole Cash Money camp on this album, but there are a few surprises which I'm not allowed to talk about just yet. But definitely look out for the next single, it's going to be exciting collaboration outside of Cash Money."
