RZA Wants to Be Involved With Ghostface, Method Man, Raekwon Album

The ever-iconic Wu-Tang Clan has had some issues in recent years with both money and creative direction. In short, RZA is the sort of guru that doesn't take kindly to questions about his musical evolution and financial practices, which can lead to some frosty inter-Wu relationships.

After the 2007 release of '8 Diagrams,' Raekwon and Ghostface were vocal about their dissatisfaction and accused the Clan's Abbot of being a money-grubbing hip-hop hippie.

Fortunately, the strongest bonds are the hardest to sever. With news of a Ghostface, Method Man and Raekwon collaborative album on the way, RZA says that he wants in.

"I think it's a great idea," said RZA of the potential record to MTV's Mixtape Daily. "I was pushing that idea to them years ago. Back in the day, we was gonna have a branch called 'The Brother From the Grain' that was kinda those guys right there."For true 1990s-centric hip-hop heads, the idea of (arguably) the three most distinct voices from the Wu getting together in the studio is a dream come true. RZA beats would make the entire thing better. And if the Abbot showed anything in his turn on Raekwon's recent 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2,' it's that he possesses a penchant to put the constant drive to innovate aside and craft some nostalgic head bangers when he wants to do it.

"I'm gonna see Meth tonight in the studio to see if I could add on something to that project. Add some depth to it," RZA said. "They are three of the most prolific voices in Wu-Tang. Ghost would call it 'Three the Hard Way Doing Their Thing ...' We're at a period of life, if anybody from Wu-Tang needs me, I'm there for them. Everybody has grown and matured to where we don't need each other ... Everybody is now independent, and sometimes we become what I call interdependent. We don't need each other, but it's good to work with each other and use each other's energy for the whole brand and the whole Clan."

That's a great attitude, RZA. Here's to hoping for even greater results.
