Rihanna Talks Life Post Chris Brown in Glamour Magazine

RihannaRihanna is kicking off her new album media blitz in the November issue of Glamour Magazine, revealing details of her life post Chris Brown. The 21-year-old gets candid about her recovery since the assault last February stating that following the event, public interest in her rose to extreme levels. "I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears," she explained.

The pop star holds nothing back delving further into how her life has changed, and the root of her strength. "My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me," she said. "But at some point you are there alone. It's a lonely place to be -- no one can understand. That's when you get close to God."

After the altercation pictures of a bruised and battered Rihanna leaked to the media without the consent of the Los Angeles Police Department, which keeps those details under wraps so as to not violate victims' privacy. "It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it's my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women." In September nine-year veteran Rebecca M. Reyes and rookie Blanca Lopez were placed on paid leave while the police department investigates the matter.

"Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can't tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don't dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It's one of the things [women] will hide, because it's embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn't heard. Now I can help speak for those women."

In light of her trials and tribulations Rihanna stated that she is much stronger, which she owes to her mother, who supported the family following her parents' divorce. Of her new album, 'Rated R' which hits stores Nov. 23, the 'Umbrella' singer says she uses the songs to tell many of the stories that she has kept to herself over the past few months. "It's super fearless, which is exactly how I feel right now. I am in a really good place."
