Bone Thugs-n-Harmony stopped by Eminem's satellite radio station Shade 45 on Wednesday, Nov. 4, to talk with morning show host Angela Yee. Among the topics discussed were Bone's forthcoming album, 'The World's Enemy,' which re-unites all five members, and the unexpected death of their mentor, Eazy-E, who gave them their first deal with Ruthless Records in 1993.According to Layzie, Eazy, who died of AIDS in 1995, was healthy up until his death. "I got my own theories," Layzie said. "It was crazy because we were here in New York in December [1994] and E bought us coats. We went out that night and n----s got a little sick with the weather change." Upon their return to Los Angeles Eazy's health began to manically deteriorate. "He went in [to the doctor] for the common cold, pneumonia, or whatever it was, which was in January," Layzie recalled. "In February, diagnosed H.I.V. positive and in March full blown AIDS. Dead."
While the circumstances surrounding his death have always seemed a bit suspicious, Layzie continued to question the situation, saying, "It happened kind of fast so I'm kind of thinkingwho the f---'s doctor did he go to? I think it was Jerry Heller's doctor [Eazy's former business partner and label owner] that he went to and he had just got fired so I'm like ... this looks ... conspiracy."
Fellow Bone Thug Krayzie agreed, adding, "We all done seen people with full blown AIDS and how they look. Dude had full blown AIDs and still had his weight, still cocky and still looking like a regular dude. It just came about all of a sudden."
"It just happened too fast to me," Wish Bone concluded. To hear Bone Thugs' entire Shade 45 interview head here. 'The World's Enemy,' the group's ninth studio album, drops Dec. 22.
