On Monday (Nov. 9) a Louisiana judge sentenced Baton Rogue rapper Lil Boosie to four years in prison, after he violated the terms of his probation. Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch, was originally scheduled to serve two years of a ten-year suspended sentence after being hit with a third-offense marijuana possession charge in September. The charges stemmed from an October 2008 arrest where police confiscated marijuana and a gun from Boosie's car. Combined, the charges could have carried at least a twenty five-year sentence but Boosie accepted a plea deal under the conditions that he would cancel all concert dates and remain at home, under electronic surveillance. When an ankle monitor indicated that Boosie had violated the terms of his parole by leaving his home more than once, Louisiana District Court Judge Chip Moore revoked his deal and doubled his sentence to four years in jail. Boosie was ordered to report to prison immediately following the Monday hearing and according to his lawyers he will likely serve at least two full years. Upon his release, he will also be subject to serve a five-year probation period.
Prior to his new parole violation Boosie told MTV News that his impending prison stint wasn't a big deal. "I gotta go away for, like, 10 months to a year," Boosie said. "It's just a minor setback for a major comeback. I was gonna take 'em to trial, but I'm not gonna take them to trial. They offered me a deal. In Louisiana, you can't really win, bruh. So I'm gonna do my year, come back home, step it up even more. I leave on Nov. 9."
Boosie's new prison stretch might interfere with plans to release his new, ironically titled album, 'Free at Last,' upon the heels of his return to the free world. On last mention, he divulged that he had already turned the finished product in to Warner Bros. Records and planned to release it the week after his release from prison. "It'll drop the week I come home," he said, "It's gonna be crazy. Crazy, man."
Lil Boosie's latest album, 'Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz.' hit stores in September.

GOD you are so ignorant. Goes with the color? I guess that statement "goes with your color" doesn't it? Typical of people such as yourself. Your indecent remark is just so sad, a big look at what's wrong with the world today.
if only we could clean the gene pool of people like you

Yikes, dude. Just make sure your comments are directly related to the post. I'm black, NOT in the LEAST a rap fan...and you just made ME cringe. If you make a post, make it specific to the topic and not to a "race" or "assumed" listenership. You sound stupid and biased based on your post. You can not "generalize" music or feeling. Let the artform(s) and people in general determine that. You will be amazed. Not all white people like Rock...not all black people like rap/RB. Lennon said it best..."there will be an answer, let it be"!
