Egyptologist Calls Beyonce a 'Stupid Person'

Beyonce has fans all over the world but one person who was not so impressed with the superstar is Egyptologist Zahi Hawass, who called her a "stupid person." The Egyptian newspaper al-Shorouk ran a story saying Hawass, who gave Beyonce a tour of the Giza pyramids earlier this week, was unhappy with the R&B diva's lack of interest.

"I showed her the Sphinx and I gave her a book on King Tutankhamun," Hawass said. The renowned Egyptologist allegedly became angry denouncing Beyonce's attitude. "She's a stupid person and she doesn't understand a thing and she doesn't want to understand. She's coming here to take pictures and that's it."

In Beyonce's defense, Hawass doesn't have a great reputation and is apparently known to insult non-Arabic speaking tourists in his native tongue. As the country's chief Egyptologist, he escorts many high profile guests around the famed area, like President Barack Obama, whom he gave a tour to in June.

The Grammy winner was in the North African country for the opening of the Red Sea Resort in Port Ghalib, Egypt. Her appearance was met with protest as some conservative religious groups damned her lyrics and costumes as too revealing, even going so far as to call her "satanic."

The problem is that African Americans in general have no respect for the real stars of this planet ..Yea I said it the real stars..The real stars dont come from BK, Houston,Atlanta , or New Orleans ..The real stars are not named jz,Lil weezy,and TI..The real stars to this planet come from Kemit and go by the name of.

Because money is the old currency and Knowledge is the new currency..Obama

Zahi Hawass should stop conducting personal tours because it's rude to criticize your "PAYING PATRONS". Ancient Egyptian antiquities are not everyone's forte. Perhaps all Beyonce was interested in was "a tour" -- not an in depth history lesson. I have to wonder if Mr. Hawass would be so anxious to criticize his "White" patrons as well. This "arrogant piece of crap" should stick to his petrified mummies, instead.

If Hawass wants Americans to be interested in those old tombs filled with items for the next life, then the heiroglyphics should be clearly translated to English. Throw in some beer and hot dogs and he will have a hit. ;)

I've met Zahi Hawass when I was 12 at the Field Museum in Chicago. He is extremely nice and intelligent. He even gave me his email address to contact him when he was signing his book for me.
I really like beyonce, but that doesn't make her a rocket scientist. Thinking a celebrity is stupid is not a crime and its probably true.

Reading and enjoying Egyptian culture does not make you smart, it just means that one, particular thing, your just not interested in. I admit that maybe she could have shown a little etiquette by feigning interest, but that does not mean a lack of intellect, just a lack of interest.
