Last Thursday, 50 Cent officially crossed the line and called out Jay-Z on a track with Beanie Sigel, titled 'I Go Off.' Sigel who was once signed to the target of 50's words recently went public with his problems with his once mentor and boss Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, and has aligned himself with the G-Unit boss. At the end of the song, 50 Cent has these words for Jay-Z."You changed, man. You let the money change you, Jay," 50 says in the song. "You used to be from Marcy, n----. Now you's a 'Pass the Grey Poupon a-- n----. You don't want the shooters? I'll take 'em. Feed the wolves, or the wolves will feed off you. It's your move, n----." While Sigel doesn't call Jay out by name and 50 doesn't have a verse on the song, the message of the track is loud and clear with 50's final words. Jay has yet to publicly make any statements toward 50 Cent and has not responded musically. In the past, the two rappers has shared jabs and disses on tracks, but later appeared together for a Reebok commercial, and even worked together when Jay was featured on the remix to 50's mega hit 'I Get Money' in '08.
Now, it seems as if 50 Cent's relationship with the Brooklyn rapper has shifted his into a hostile one. 50 spoke with MTV News correspondent Tim Kash last week and when the question of a full blown battle with Jay arose, he stated "Well, it would be great for hip-hop. It would probably be interesting, but I don't think one of us would survive it."
There are rumors circulating around that 50 Cent is currently in talks to sign Beanie Sigel to his G-Unit Records and continue supporting the Philly native in his current onslaught against Jay. In related news 50 Cent's next album, 'Before I Self Destruct,' is conveniently scheduled to be released today (Nov. 16)
