DJ AM's Mother Continues Lawsuit Against Airplane Manufacturer

DJ AMAccording to reports, DJ AM's mother, Andrea Gross, has announced plans to continue her son's $20 million lawsuit against the manufacturer of the Learjet that crashed and almost killed her son in September 2008.

People magazine reports that Gross added a wrongful death claim to her son's lawsuit, stating in the document that, "The crash ultimately caused Adam Goldstein's death at a later date." Several of AM's friends have echoed similar sentiments, stating that they thought his drug overdose was related to the trauma he endured in the near-fatal crash. Goldstein, a recovering drug addict, was reportedly prescribed anti-anxiety medications to cope with flying to post crash gigs.

The trial is scheduled to take place on March 2, 2010. Learjet denies responsibility for the crash, which killed the plane's two pilots and four others. AM and his friend/collaborator Travis Barker survived, receiving serious burns. A year later, AM, a recovering drug addict, was found dead in his NYC apartment, of an accidental drug overdose.
