Janet Jackson Blames Doctor for Michael's Death

After months of silence Janet Jackson is giving her input on who is to blame for her brother Michael Jackson's death. In a interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, airing Wednesday (Nov. 18) the pop icon pointed the finger at Jackson's doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray. "He was the one that was administering [prescription drugs]" she told Roberts. "I think he is responsible."

Murray is the focus of the investigation behind the King of Pop's death, which has been ruled a homicide. According to reports the doctor administered a slue of sedatives to Michael, including the powerful drug Proposal, in the hours leading up to his death. Toxicology reports later substantiated claims that Michael's death was a result of overdosing on the drug.

Jackson also recounted how she heard of her brother's hospitalization and then later, his death. "I was at my house in New York. You know, another day, another morning, and I get a call ... " she explained. "[My assistant] said, 'Your brother's been taken to the hospital. It's on CNN right now.' I called everyone ... I spoke to Mother. I spoke to Tito. I spoke to my nephew Austin. I spoke to my sister La Toya."
"I told them to call me when they got to the hospital. And, I remember thinking, 'Nobody's calling me back.' So, I tried calling again, and that's how I found out that he was no longer ... I couldn't believe it. It just didn't ring true to me. It felt like a dream." Although it's only been a few months Jackson is trying to work through her loss. "It's still so difficult for me to believe," she said. "You have to accept what is, but it's hard. You have to move on with your life. You have to accept what is and I understand that."

In spite of her tough year the 43-year-old is still hard at work. She is prepping the release of her 'Number Ones' album, which drops Nov. 17, and will co-star in the film 'Why Did I Get Married Too,' hitting theaters next spring.
