Gucci Mane 'Accepts Responsibility' for Legal Troubles

Recently incarcerated rapper Gucci Mane is finally speaking out about going back to the slammer for violating his probation. "I have accepted full responsibility for my actions," he said in a statement. "I am ready to deal with what is in front of me right now. Thankfully, my label is still moving forward with my album release so I will have plenty to look forward to when I get out. I am remaining positive and want my fans to know that I am grateful for their loyalty and continued support. I will get through this."

The former Trap Star, born Radric Davis, was sentenced to one year in prison earlier this month (Nov. 12) for violating his probation stemming from an assault charge in 2005. According to his lawyer, Dwight Thomas, Gucci is sorrowful for his behavior. "In court, Mr. Davis was extremely articulate and he was remorseful for his conduct," Thomas wrote in a statement addressing his client's current mental state. "He was able to convince the courts that he was not deserving of the two year prison sentence he was facing."

Despite what seems to be a flourishing music career, the 29-year-old has been riddled with legal issues. Last year he was arrested under suspicion of DUI and was charged with possession of marijuana and a firearm. Gucci's label still has plans to release his album ironically titled 'The State vs. Radric Davis' on Dec. 8. Pending good behavior the rapper may end up serving only six months.
