Kid Cudi, Santigold Rock Diesel U Music Miami Stop

A rowdy crowd of 1200 chanted for Diesel U Music Miami co-headliners Kid Cudi and Santigold. The pair, along with openers 'Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt!, known for their flamboyant stage costumes, and a solo Jemina Pearl, formally of neo-punk outfit Be Your Own Pet, had an amped crowd before them thanks to the evening's open bar at Miami Beach's Paris Theater.

Cudi, didn't seem to have a pre-made set list, except for the first and last song he performed. The Cleveland, Ohio-bred rapper mostly tapped into songs off his five-act, conceptual debut 'Man on the Moon: The End of Day,' The album's 'Heart of a Lion (Kid Cudi Theme Music)' kicked things off, with Cudi eventually paying slight homage to the album that made him a hip-hop namestay -- his 2008 breakthrough mixtape, 'A Kid Named Cudi.' The mixtape's underground-turned-radio favorite 'Day 'N' Nite' capped Cudi's performance.

Next up was former Epic Record A&R rep Santigold, whose back-up singers entered the stage and immediately began singing while the crowd chanted "Santi! Santi! Santi!." Santigold took to the stage and started the set with one of two Major Lazer covers, 'Hold the Line.' Other covers included her collabo with Jay-Z, 'Brooklyn Go Hard,' and Spank Rock's 'B.O.O.T.A.Y.' which closed the evening. But the crowd reaching for the singer as she sang with arms outstretched to them, went even more nuts, for her own gems, 'Creator' and 'L.E.S. Artists.'
