Perhaps in an effort to combat the sheer amount of illicit sex encouraged by his hit singles throughout the past decade, 50 Cent recently revealed his efforts to manufacture a line of condoms. In an interview on the 'The Tonight Show,' 50 explained how he wanted to replace the ancient Wrap It Up campaign with something newer and savvier. "I was looking for the opportunity to create a new safe sex campaign," explained a joking 50. "The Wrap It Up campaign is something that is used so often. It wasn't effective anymore, so I thought this is a great opportunity for me to get involved."
So how could this not work out for Fiddy? He already has one of the more diversified financial portfolios in all of hip-hop. How hard could it be to simply add a line of condoms to his offerings? Well, there was a pretty big quality stipulation from 50 that held things up at the research lab. Apparently, he wanted to add a sexual enhancement solution to each condom so males could ... We'll just let him explain: "It just didn't work out because I wanted things in it that wouldn't work. I wanted things that would prolong sexual performance. You could just put it on and just go!"
We gotta give 50 some credit on this one. Unlike Lil Wayne, who famously endorsed 'Strapped' condoms and still seems to have a new child on a biweekly basis, 50 was so serious about innovation and product quality that he decided to hold up on production until technology could meet his lofty personal standards.
