Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy is yet another hip-hop figure pitching in for the community this Thanksgiving. Jeezy has announced that his Street Dreamz Foundation will be hosting an event, in collaboration with non-profit Kids With Strong Opinions Inc., for Atlanta's youth. The A Day of Giving Thanks event will provide a turkey dinner for 26 lucky local students, based on recommendations from school administrators, grades, behavior and financial needs. The students and their families will then spend A Night Out with the Hawks, attending an Atlanta Hawks basketball game on Turkey Day.
Jeezy discussed the event, which is intended to encourage kids to focus on school saying, "I am thankful to be able to stay apart of our youth today and the direction that they may choose to pursue. To me, the success behind being Young Jeezy, behind the fame is being able to take time out and help the less fortunate when I am able to."
Good work, Jeezy. Check out his new album, 'Thug Motivation 103,' sometime in 2010. We support rappers who give back to the community, and don't use Twitter, like Jeezy and KRS-One.
