DJ AM's Nike Dunks Unveiled

DJ AM's sneaker collection was nearly as legendary of his storied talent at juggling tracks through turntables. Prior to his shocking death on Aug. 28, AM, real name Adam Goldstein, took to Twitter to announce a collaboration with Nike on his very own version of Dunk High Premium shoes. Some photos have finally hit the net and we must say that his efforts are pretty dang cool.

"This is one of the most amazing moments," wrote DJ AM on the popular social networking site earlier this year. "I just HELD the sample of MY OWN NIKE DUNK [sic]. I never dreamed this would happen. Wow, THANK YOU G0D [sic]."

The AM kicks have a gray, red and black palette and are dotted with reflexive patent leather that looks remarkably similar to vinyl records. His logo -- a reference to the iconic AC/DC image separated with a lightning bolt -- is on the tongue. As a final stylistic flourish, the shoe's heels feature a small pattern of circles that reference the belt of a Technics 1200 turntable.

The photo leak comes in the midst of an ongoing eBay auction of DJ AM's personal shoe collection for charity. Organized by Undefeated shoe stores and the Creative Visions organization, all sales proceeds from the collection will benefit the DJ AM Memorial Fund. Bidding is open until Dec. 14 and new shoes have been added on a daily basis. If you're a sneaker head, this is a do-not-miss opportunity.
