Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane and DJ Drama Put End to Beef

Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane

Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane have finally put their long-standing and vicious feud to rest. The two buried the hatchet last night (December 3) on DJ Drama's Gangsta Grillz radio show on Atlanta's Hot 107.9 radio station when Gucci phoned in from prison to officially announce the end of a warring era.

"I'm a hundred percent down with it [squashing the beef], you know I'm 10 toes forward," Gucci said. "I'm with it and I think it's a great idea and that's what I'm fittin' to do. I hope everybody is ready cause it's back on."

The trouble between the two spurned from a 2005 battle over rights to the track "Icy." The song ended up on Gucci Mane's independent album 'Back to the Trap House,' instead of Young Jeezy's debut album 'Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101,' like it was originally intended.

The bad blood over the song continued to build, first in the form of diss tracks between the MCs, like Jeezy's "Stay Strapped," and Mane's "Round One." It eventually escalated into physical violence in May 2005 when Gucci and a friend were ambushed and attacked by five men who were later identified as members of Jeezy's CTE entourage. After firing at one of his attackers, Mane was charged with murder but was eventually acquitted when his lawyers proved that he had acted in self-defense.

DJ Drama, who had worked extensively with Young Jeezy on the 'Gangsta Grillz' mixtape series found himself in the middle of the feuding when he opted to work with Gucci Mane on a 2008 'Gangsta Grillz' release. Jeezy wrote him off as a traitor, and it wasn't until last night that the three finally buried the animosity. After Drama and Jeezy made peace with each other, Jeezy took Gucci up on his offer to squash the beef. "That's what it is homie," Jeezy said. "What's understood ain't gotta be said man. We gonna do this for the city so you just hold your head up. Me and Drama gonna hold it down brah, and that's what it is. One hundred."
