Kid Cudi -- one of our favorite newcomers in 2009 -- suffered a major misstep at a Vancouver stop over the weekend. Apparently enraged that someone had thrown a wallet at him on stage, the 'Day N' Night' singer jumped down, stretched over a barricade and threw a hearty punch that reportedly hit the wrong person in the face. Well, we guess these things are bound to happen when your mentor is Kanye West. All kidding aside, a video of the incident has hit the net, but it's hard to actually see what went down in the footage as a large melee ensues when Cudi enters the crowd. Security guards quickly broke the altercation up and Cudi returned to the stage to vent a bit.
Michael Sharpe, the punch's recipient, has now come forward and explained what went down in a quick interview with TMZ. Sharpe claims that someone else threw the wallet, but when Cudi threw it back, he caught the thing and received a subsequent punch in the face from the artist. Sharpe is going to be just fine and has no hard feelings about the incident."I'm not upset," he told the gossip site. "I'm not going to be that person. I just want to meet him and be like, 'I'm the guy you punched.' I'm not going to press charges."
