Beyonce, Maxwell and the Black Eyed Peas are among the first artists to be named as performers for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. The three acts have 22 combined Grammy nominations between them, so it comes as little surprise that they'll be among the awards' performers.
Beyonce, the clear favorite, has notched ten Grammy wins in her career, and has been nominated for ten more in 2009 alone, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song and six more. Crooner Maxwell, whose album 'BlackSummers' Night' may have flown under the radar for many, received six nominations, including Song of the Year, Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song (watch out B!) and Best Pop Instrumental Performance. The Black Eyed Peas have taken home three Grammys in the past, and came off with six nominations this year, including Best Pop Vocal Album, while competing with Beyonce for Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
"This is a blessing. We're very blessed," Fergie told MTV. "The thing is, we're still hungry, we're still working hard ... and all of the work we've put into it just makes us appreciate it more."
The 52nd Grammy Awards will be broadcast on Jan. 31.
