DJ Kay Slay, aka "The Drama King," aka "Slap Your Favorite DJ," is being taken to court for failing to properly clear a sample. The copyright infringement allegedly appears on 'Angels Around Me,' a song from his 'Street Sweeper Volume 2: The Pain From the Game' album, which also sports collaborations with 50 Cent and G-Unit.
Two songwriters, Raymond and Richard Grant contend that the song features an illegally used sample of their song of the same name, and have named record labels Sony BMG and Loud Records in the suit as well.
Kay Slay has yet to make a statement regarding the lawsuit, as he continues to work on his latest release, 'More Than Just a DJ,' due next month. The album features Ray J, Jim Jones, Cam'ron, Busta Rhymes and more.
