When Raekwon announced plans to release a sequel to his legendary 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx,' few would have foreseen that it would open the flood gates for so many golden age rappers to attempt follow-ups of their own. From AZ's 'Doe or Die II' to Capone-N-Noreaga's 'War Report II,' a slew of rap legends have recently announced plans to revisit the releases that put them on the map. Now it appears that one more is joining the fray; Brand Nubian rapper Sadat X has announced plans to release 'Wild Cowboys II,' a sequel to his acclaimed, yet largely overlooked 1996 solo debut. The album, which will be imprinted through Fat Beats Records, is scheduled for a Feb. 23 release date. Despite the fourteen years separating the new album and its prequel, it features many of the same contributors, including producers Pete Rock, Diamond D, Minnesota and Buckwild, Sadat's group Brand Nubian, and BX homeys Money Boss Players.
The album also features production from 9th Wonder, Ice Cube beatsmith Sir Jinx, DJ Spinna and Nick Wiz, alongside rhymes by first-time 'Wild Cowboys' A.G., Rhymefest, Kurupt, M1 of Dead Prez, Ill Bill and Vast Aire.
