Virginia rappers the Clipse are the latest members of the hip-hop community to pitch in for Haiti. The duo are preparing to host both a clothing drive and benefit concert to raise funds for the relief effort. The event, in collaboration with the Clipse's Play Cloths clothing company, will take place at PhatKaps clothing boutique in Antioch, Tenn. on Jan. 29.This isn't the first time the rapping brothers -- Malice and Pusha T -- have contributed to Haitian relief efforts. Last week, they announced the release of a Play Cloths signature Jack logo t-shirt, with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti Foundation. "Many people across the country have already started to contribute to the Haiti relief effort and Play Cloths must do its part as well," the Clipse said. "Sometimes it is very confusing when donating, due to the high level of corruption within certain charities, but in this instance we feel that Wyclef Jean is a man we can trust."
As for the Tennessee clothing drive, the "coke rappers" will begin the evening with a meet-and-greet at 6PM, and an unannounced local act and special guest DJ will join the Clispe for their 8PM concert. The Clipse album, 'Til the Casket Drops' is in stores now, and it's good.
