Christina Milian and her family have been hit with a lawsuit from an 81-year-old neighbor who claims that he was brutally attacked by one of their dogs in 2008. Leo Skolion, who brought the lawsuit against Christina, her mother Carmen and sister Danielle in an L.A. County Superior Court earlier this month, claims that he was left with "severe personal injuries" following the attack. Skolion said that he approached the family to speak with them about repairing a damaged gate separating the properties, when the dog attacked him from behind and took "a hung chunk" out of his arm.
According to TMZ, Skolion claims that after 19 stitches and nine months of rehabilitation, he still needs psychiatric counseling to keep his fear and depression at bay. The 81-year-old is suing the family for an unspecified amount to cover expenses for physical and mental damage.
Christian Milian is currently at work on her upcoming album 'Elope,' which will be produced by her husband, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart. She is expecting her first child in February.

Christina Milian is good people. She didn't mean no harm.

She didn't mean ''any'' harm. God why doesn't AOL put in filters for the terminally stupid. Oh and while she meant to do no harm, her dog did. Dog bites are serious. If she would have taken responsibility for her dogs actions right away no one would have to be sued. She tried to ignore the situation, as many negligent dog owners do, and forced the injured party to sue. I hope they get every penny they ask for. Be responsible for your animals or don't have them.

IF SHE WAS SO GOOD, SHE WOULD HAVE PAID UP BY NOW, NOT HAVE TO BE SUED

If the dog came to the neighbor as he was going in it was not Christina's fault at all. She and her family should not have to pay this price. Christina is a nice lady. This is unfair. She is very talented too.
I like her and her songs. Not fair what this guy is doing.

Not true. You are responsible for medical expenses no matter where your dog is when it attacks. It is a no-no to let a dog bite someone, even if they are on the dog's property.

What the heck , incident from 2008 and finally decided to sue. Something smells fishy to me. I can understand waiting but I think someone is after all the cash, maybe not for themselves but for their family.

I believe they were probably giving her time to do the right thing without being sued. She apparantly chose not to do so and the statute of limitations was probably getting close and they knew that if they didnt do it NOW that they would end up with nothing. She is 100% responsible for what happened. She should have offered to pay when it happened.

There is usually a two year statute of limitations after the incident to sue or not be able to recover. The poor man was probably trying to avoid the expense and time of a lawsuit and ran out of time to try and settle the case. Probably, demand letters from an attorney were ignored so now he has to sue. I have a dog and don't let him run lose on my property. My daughter was bitten by her friend's dog on her friend's property and her friend's mother's insurance company paid for all the medical expenses. I am sure the rock star has insurance so why hurt an old man.

first i want to state the obvious, what kind of dog was it? ... if it was a Pit Bull that would have been stated as "Vicious Pit Bull Attacks Elderly Man" ... I am a pit owner, can anyone see the biased opinion of this misunderstood breed?
Loriat 2-01-2010
Yep! Clearly it was NOT a pit bull, or the headlines would have specified so.

Yep! Clearly it was NOT a pit bull, or the headlines would have specified so. Geez, as much as they pick on pit bulls, they should specify when it is NOT a bully breed IMO!
grampasfarm5at 2-01-2010
Clearly it does not mean it wasn't a pitbull. More likely they had to trim out a few words to hold your attention span. I'm willing to bet it was an aggressive breed and probably a pitbull. Pitbulls suck as pets and they're usually bought to increase someones perception of their own self worth or lack thereof. "Look how tough I am. I got a pitbull"

It seems like some people have missed the point of the article. There is no doubt that this young lady is very talented an is most likely a great person.
I'm quite sure that she didn't instruct her dog to attack the neighbor but she is responsible for the injuries sustained by the 81 year old lady. After all, she owns the dog.
The best solution is for her to turn it over to the carrier of her home insurance and let them settle with the injured lady. After all, this is one of the reasons that people purchase homeowners coverage.
Based on the injured lady's age, this could have turned out much worse than it did. If the animal was able to cause an injury that required 19 stitches, it could have very well killed her if an artery had been severed.
I wish all parties involved the best of luck.

It does not matter what this ladies musical skills are. Does that give her & her animal a free ride.
Pits are not allowed in South FL for a reason (to other comment of obvious Pit owner).
Unless the old person entered her home, the dog should be restrained outside the home.
If the elder had died, then its involutary man slaughter.
She should be lucky she is only liable for medical.
The dog should immediately be put to sleep.

No idiot, the dog should not be put to sleep. The owner that ignored the problem which was the fence, not the dog, should pay. Not the dog. And this article did not once mention a Pit Bull, it actually didn't say what kind of dog it was at all. How stupid are you to bring that up out of nowhere. It's because of people like you that such stupid assumptions are made of certain breeds...pure ignorance.
