News broke back in December that R&B singer and reality TV star Keyshia Cole was expecting her first child with Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Daniel "Boobie" Gibson. So when a TNT sportscaster announced during a Cavaliers game Thursday night (Feb 4) that Gibson was absent from the court because he was in the hospital with Cole, the web lit up with rumors that the star was giving birth. Despite initial rumors and reports however, the information was incorrect. Gibson returned to the stadium later in the night to help the Cavaliers defeat the Miami Heat and it was revealed that Cole isn't actually due until March. Daniel broached the subject post game, explaining that Keyshia needed a quick trip to the hospital right before he hit the court, but the singer was back home a few hours later, allowing him to return in time for the game's second half.
At approximately 9:30PM, NBA.com reported that Gibson's absence was announced 30 minutes before game time. The Cavaliers' general manager Danny Ferry explained that he was allowed a late start because Cole had been hospitalized for "precautionary reasons." Lebron James filled in for Gibson as point guard until the father-to-be returned to the Quicken Loans arena for half-time.
