The preliminary lineup for this year's Sasquatch! Music Festival has been announced and amidst the obvious contenders, a handful of hip-hop acts have been included on the bill for the notoriously indie-focused extravaganza. In addition to alternative bands such MGMT and Vampire Weekend, newcomers Wale and Kid Cudi will join Public Enemy and Brother Ali for performances at the three-day festival. The annual Sasquatch! Festival is typically held over Memorial Day weekend at the Gorge Amphitheater in Gorge, Washington. And though there is usually an emphasis on indie rock bands, hip-hop acts such as M.I.A., Santigold and Erykah Badu have appeared at the festival in the past. Both Wale and Kid Cudi will perform at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee this summer, where Jay-Z will give a headlining performance. The two rappers recently joined Jay-Z for separate dates on his 'Blueprint 3' tour across the States.
The 2010 Sasquatch! Music Festival will run from May 29-31. Tickets can be purchased beginning Saturday, Feb. 20.
