Last Wednesday (Feb. 24) 50 Cent was hit with a lawsuit for releasing a sex tape involving Rick Ross' ex-wife. A day later his assistant Dwayne McKenzie was confronted with allegations of arson, stemming from the 2008 fire that destroyed 50's Long Island estate. McKenzie's ex-girlfriend, Shana Chin, testified in court on Thursday (Feb. 25) that he often bragged about setting the fire that burned down the Dix Hills mansion belonging to 50 Cent's ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins. The $1.4 million Long Island estate was destroyed by a suspicious fire, in the midst of 50's heated efforts to evict Tompkins from the house. The fire sent six people, including Tompkins and 50's son Marquise, to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Dix Hills police officials reported that the fire was "definitely suspicious" because of the rapid movement of the fire, but no one was officially charged after the incident.
Chin explained that during their relationship McKenzie made several references to torching a house belonging to 50 Cent's ex. She also went on to say that McKenzie had assaulted her at the mansion before the notorious fire gutted the building. McKenzie's lawyers have issued a statement denying the testimony, but according to a 2008 news reports, 27-year-old McKenzie was arrested a few days prior to the blaze, for choking a woman and striking her with a belt on 50 Cent's property. McKenzie was arrested again in August 2009, for allegedly assaulting another woman on the Long Island estate. The 27-year-old has not released any comment on the allegations.
