Singer Amerie is off the market after reportedly getting engaged over the weekend. The singer's boyfriend/manager Lenny Nicholson reportedly popped the question while the two were in Paris. Amerie's publicist, Eva Paris, inadvertently broke the news via Twitter after reading a false report stating that the '1 Thing' singer was married. "Can u correct the news Amerie just got engaged," she tweeted to a fan's Twitter page. "She is not getting married she just got engaged [that's] it." Additionally a photo of Amerie rocking a large diamond on her ring finger while hugging her fiancee also hit the Net.
Although the two maintain a low public profile, according to reports Amerie and Nicholson have been together for over two years. Born in Massachusetts, the 30-year-old moved to Washington D.C. for college and later hit the music mainstream incorporating the region's go-go style music into her songs. After releasing three albums with Columbia Records, Amerie moved over to Def Jam where she dropped her fourth release 'Love & War' in November of 2009.
