Kidz in the Hall's third album -- 'Land of Make Believe' -- dropped online and and in-store today, March 2. This project marks the group's most personal album to date. Naledge, the duo's mouthpiece spoke with The BoomBox during a recent press day in New York City. "There was a period of time when a lot of soul searching was done. Between 'In the Crowd' and now it's just been a whirlwind of ups and downs. There really hasn't been a sense of calm since then."DJ Double agreed that 'Land of Make Believe' will be the album that defines who they are as a group. "It was a focus to make this album more personal because we felt like if we didn't then we'd never be able to separate ourselves from everybody else."
Since the two former Penn State graduates were selling their mixtapes by hand at car shows across the West Coast, Naledge and Double-O have advanced with technology and have adapted to using the Web as their medium to connect with fans, "It's a revolution of artists, saying "we are going to take everything into our own hands. We don't really like what's going on the radio, so iPod is the new radio," Naledge says of the duo's constant contact with their largely Internet built fanbase.
With their release date quickly approaching, Kidz in the Hall recently hit the road with their eyes set on the upcoming SXSW music festival. In a few weeks, artists from across the country with gather in Austin, Texas for a week-long schedule featuring some of best independent artist showcases of the year. Kidz in the Hall are currently out on the road with 88-Keys, Izza Kizza, and Donnis.
