R&B singer Keyshia Cole and her fiancé Cleveland Cavaliers player Daniel "Boobie" Gibson are celebrating the birth of their son this week. After a series of false baby tweets from Cole's estranged relatives, Cole's publicist told Us Weekly on Wednesday (March 3) that they "are proud to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr."Daniel Jr. was born on Tuesday (March 2) at 11:54PM, weighing in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces. "The proud couple would like to thank everyone for giving them privacy during this special time," Cole's rep said. "Keyshia would also like to give a special thank you to her fans that have been with her since the beginning sharing in her growth as a woman and an artist."
The 28-year-old gave birth to her first son in Cleveland, Ohio where Gibson plays basketball. Back on Feb. 4, rumors flooded the Web that Cole had gone into labor when Gibson was forced to miss the first half of a Cavaliers game to visit her in the hospital. Gibson later returned for the game's second half, explaining that she had only been hospitalized for "precautionary reasons."
Daniel Gibson proposed to Keyshia Cole on New Year's Eve with what her publicist describes as "an incredible ring. When he asked her to marry him, she was flabbergasted," she said. "Her mouth dropped in amazement. It's too beautiful for words."
