The King of the South is officially back. According to his record label, Atlantic, rapper T.I. will release his first post-incarceration single 'I'm Back' next Monday (March 8). The label teased a "major announcement" via Tip's Twitter page earlier this week. His website also shows a picture of the single's artwork.Since stepping out of the limelight to serve his prison sentence for federal gun possession charges last year, Tip maintained a low profile despite his early release to a halfway house in December. The Atlanta native re-emerged in his hometown last month for an Alzheimer's research fundraiser alongside his fiancee Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. "I am very happy to be seen," he said at the event.
Although details have been kept under wraps, it's no secret that the 29-year-old is working on a forthcoming album. Last month rapper B.O.B. described Tip's mental state. "He seems like he's really focused now that he's out, and he seems like he's got something to prove. I'm excited to see what he's gonna do, and I'm excited to see what the songs we made are gonna do." No word yet on if Tip will be making a public appearance to commemorate the single release.
