Lil Wayne Quiet as He's Taken Away in Handcuffs

Lil Wayne Looks like fourth times a charm for rapper Lil Wayne. After his sentencing for criminal possession of a weapon was delayed twice in the last month -- first, due to oral surgery and then subsequently after a freak courthouse fire -- Lil Wayne was finally taken away in handcuffs today.

A little after 2PM EST, Judge Charles H. Solomon read Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter, his charge and sentenced him to a year in the slammer. The rapper, who will be placed in protective custody, chose not to make a statement and only nodded a goodbye at his Cash Money exec Birdman, before being taken away.

Wayne's home for the next year, or possibly as little as eight months if he behaves himself, will be the Eric M. Taylor Center at New York's Rikers Island where he is allowed hour-long visits twice a week.

Before turning himself in Lil Wayne posted his own little proverb about his situation on Twitter. "Law is mind without reason,' he wrote, before promising, "... I'll return."

I know this'll never happen but 99.9% of the rap music today should banned.Back ini the day we had the o'Jays, Smokey, Lionel Richie,P. Diddy and many more that make this NOISE we hear today sound like just that, NOISE. And it's good to know that a lot of old school is still around. People still like it, young and old.I tried to give this garbage the benefit of the doubt until I heard some jack--- saying "read a book, read a book, read a go-damn book. I almost that here was something that would be encouraging for those who like rap and then here it came. Encouraging reading and condemning God in the same breath. Is this really what we want for our kids? You make them do homework sometimes and let them finish the evening off by listening to this garbage. A lot of parent allow their kids to become hoodlums by letting them look/listen to rap and think that its glamorous.

One definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and receive different results. I can't see that happening. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

I didn't know Whoppie Goldberg was being sentenced to a year in prison? Oh wait,,thats Lil Wayne!! ..the ugliest 'artist' I have ever seen. He should be jailed for life to keep his ugly mug away from society. Add his crappy music to it and it life without parole. I hope he stays there and likes the sausage.

It never seem to fail.....they seem to pick on Black entertainers and put them in jail for little or nonsense reasons.......why are they so anxious to put Black folks in jail for ridiculous things.......???.Would they put a white entertainer in jail for the same reason....NO...it would have been swept under the rug............there are a lot of white entertainers doing so much worse and NEVER GET MEDIA COVERAGE....it is swept under the rug and you never hear about it.....

The justice system LOVES to incarcerate BLACKS at a incredible rate.....this is abuse of the system that suppose to be FAIR........"JUSTICE FOR ALL" is what they say! I think it's jealousy and hatred!
