According to reports, singer Lloyd has signed a deal with Interscope Records. Following the dissolution of the his first label, Murder Inc., the crooner languished for several years on Universal Motown. Recently, he began collaborating with Lil Wayne's group Young Money, most notably on the group's 'Bedrock' single, sparking rumors that he would be joining the group, who was also signed to Universal Motown.
Instead, Lloyd opted to jump ship for Jimmy Iovine's Interscope Records. "I love the way Interscope gets down. I love the way Jimmy [Iovine] gets down," Lloyd told MTV, regarding his signing."I've always had a good working relationship with Polow [da Don]," the rapper continued. "Having that creative partner is something I wanted to have, since the very beginning, to have that one creative partner."
The singer has released his first single since leaving Universal Motown, "Set Me Free," which features recently-paroled rapper Mystikal. Check it out here. Lloyd's album is expected to see release sometime this year.
