Ice Cube Feels 'Disrespected' by West Coast Rappers

Rapper-turned-actor, Ice Cube is waging a verbal war against his would be West Coast rap successors calling for his retirement. Cube, who is prepping the release his up-coming 'I Am The West' album used his blog to explode on other rappers that want him to bow out of the music game so that they can have their turn in the spotlight.

"What's up with these local MC's in L.A. who keep disrespecting me?" he pondered. "They're just mad cause I don't f--- with they wack-ass. They ain't on my level, why should I waste my time. I don't even remember ever meeting these clowns or even being in the same room with any of 'em. They can't make a name for themselves so they need help from the O/G's. I refuse the throw 'em a lifeline. F--- 'em. It ain't my job to make nobody famous. And for the record, I ain't scared of no n---. Especially, no rappers....seriously people."

Cube failed to name names but according to the rumor mill West Coast up-and-comers like Glasses Malone, Crooked I and Bishop Lamont are among his targets. The 40-year-old father of four also theorized that his age has something to do with the criticism. "Age-ism is everywhere folks. In the work place, in sports and of course in hip-hop. We are [an] out with the OLD in with the NEW world. But as we go through life we realize NEWER ain't always better. All young MC's should route for old MC's to have long careers. If you play us out, what kind of future do you have in hip-hop when you get 40?"

West Coast rapper Jay Rock caught wind of Cube's fury and refused to dissolve any impending beef by unleashing his own commentary via his Twitter page. "[What's] up wit ice cube talkin [crazy] about new west n----s," he tweeted in all caps. "If he got a prob wit 1 of us he [should] say [our] name [and] stop [being] [scared] 2 call a n--- out. On some real stuff I ain't never had a problem with Cube or none of the o.g. n---s but if he say 'new west' I'm apart of that. To me he talkin' bout all of us, if he didn't say a name, that's how the west got f---ed up in the first place."

We'll just have to wait and see if this beef will amount to anything more than a boil. 'I Am the West' drops July 13.

Lol man lot of stupid people on this post must be obama voters lol...anyways Cube is dead on except the west has rappers not MC's big difference. the west coast has a ton of garbage rappers who think they have a clue. Cube doesnt owe them anything matter of fact they owe Cube and NWA for giving them a chance because if he didnt they never would have gotten the chance to get paid for music as at the time East Coast had it locked. The simple minds of the west coast rappers is what holds them back. Now i cant say everyone single one but the ones on the radio and those wanna be radio gangstas yeah thier content and Mickey Mouse tracks suck and ew kids on the eats aint talking crap on Rakim, or Ks-1 they know and respect..Take notes New West before you cut your own throats.

Rap sucks nowadays! It will never measure up to the rap of the 90's. All these clowns rap about these days is $$$ and fame. Just check out Cube's "It was a good day". Low budget and all, it is a true west coast classic.

Cube,

Who care about these youngsters. They don't respect anyone. I love the old skool rap with beats, lyrics, stories, flow, etc. I wish we could get back to that instead of the rap crap now with no art or skill. Stop your worry and do your thing. You are 40. Let's be mature and move on. Do your thing and let these kids do theirs. I look forward to hearing new material from you so I don't have to hear these kids anymore.

I Feel Cube On That Age Crap. If Hip Hop And Age Got Any To Do With Each Other (Which It Dont). Just Because Tha Youth That Run Behind Tha Start Was Between 13 & Up Supposed To Set Tha Pace Which They Dont. Money Sets The Pace. What Executive Back In Tha Early 1980's Was Under 21 That Made Millions? None. Age Dont Mean Spit In Rap And Or Business. Experience And Education Does. But Cube Is To High Rate For Tha Gangsta Audience. He Tries To Invent Not Invest In The Urban Strret Life. If That Dude Can Realize That The Youth To The People Of His Age Aint Ever Gonna Make That Kind Of Money He Has Earned Legit Lee. He Might Be Able To Ride A stolen Bike Threw L.A.'s Ghetto And Get Some Respect. (Yeah Rite They'll Knock That Fool Off And Take That too.) And No He Shouldnt Step As Side For No One Not Even His Relatives To Make Them Rich Or He Would Be His Own Weak Link.
