Mary J. Blige will take the stage for a few select dates on this year's Lilith Fair tour. She will join fellow R&B singers Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Janelle Monae who will also perform at the traveling music festival.
Mary has confirmed her spot on the Lilith Fair tour in addition to her headlining spot at the 2010 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. The concert series will feature eighty performers over a set of thirty shows. So far, she is confirmed to perform on four dates with stops in Toronto, Chicago, Cleveland and Indianapolis. The first show will kick off on Jul. 2 in Portland, Oregon, where Erykah Badu will take the stage, but Mary will not join the festivities until Jul. 17 in Chicago at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre.
The first Lilith Fairs shows took place during the summers of 1997 - 1999. Last year organizers announced that the all-female festival would return with 2010 dates, in anticipation of a new album from co-founder Sarah McLachlan. Past performances have included Jewel, Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow and Sinead O' Connor.
