Raekwon Heads to Russia for Country's Inaugural Hip-Hop Summit

Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon "The Chef" has been recruited to headline the first ever Hip-Hop summit in Moscow, on April 25.

The first annual Russian Hip-Hop Summit will focus on spearheading the development of the country's budding hip-hop industry. Organizers say that they hope to further local musical efforts in Russia and establish relationships between artists around the globe. A representative for the event issued a statement explaining that the summit would finally cement Russia as a serious player in the hip-hop community. "The summer will show that our hip-hop is not lagging behind: we learned a lot over the past 15 years," the rep said, "and now Russian and American artists are able to perform on one stage, not yielding to each other."
A lineup of Russian artists, including Noggano and Vakhtang will join Raekwon and Queens-based group, Onyx at the first ever summit. During the inaugural event, organizers will also crown the best new artist of the year. The Hip-Hop Summit will be held on April 25 at the Luzhniki Sports Complex in Moscow. Visit HipHopSummit.ru for more information and the a music video from Noggano is available for your viewing pleasure after the jump.
