Lupe Fiasco kicked off the U.S. leg of his Steppin' Lasers tour at the beginning of March, but the Chi-Town rapper will make a pit stop in Connecticut on Memorial Day Weekend to headline the 2010 B.O.M.B. (Bring Our Music Back) festival.A lineup of artists including Girl Talk, The Cool Kids, Of Montreal and emerging reggae act Roots of Creation will join Lupe to rock the Durham, Conn. Fairgrounds while families can make use of the open fair rides. Festival sponsor, Bring Our Music Back Inc., will donate more than seventy percent of profits from the music fest to local and national charities, including the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Hole in the Wall Camps and YPI's children's camp for artistic development. Lupe's philanthropic endeavors have been one of his top priorities in the past few months.
In January, he joined artist Kenna and a group of celebrities for a documented expedition to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. The well-publicized "Summit On The Summit" climb was intended to bring awareness to the global clean water crisis.
Tickets for the 2010 B.O.M.B. fest will be available on April 1. Visit bombfest.com for more information.
