Hip-hop mogul Diddy will host the upcoming Best of the Best International Music Festival in Miami this coming Memorial Day weekend. The four-day festival begins Friday, May 28, featuring a welcoming event at club Opium, a white party (aka a Diddy party), a concert at Bicentennial Park on Sunday, May 30, and several performances on the final day, May 31.In addition to Diddy's involvement, the festival boasts an appearance by popular Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane, who is currently serving a one-year sentence for violating his probation. BOTB will be Gucci's first performance since his release.
"Each year we plan events to give everyone journeying to Miami the experience of their life," promoter JBJ Entertainment said. "This year we are making it official by extending the festival to four days of fun in the sun. We invite everyone to Miami to come and enjoy yourselves, either at one event or better yet, all of them."
Other confirmed performers include Miami's DJ Khaled and reggae artists Mavado, Bounty Killer, Baby Cham, Mr. Vegas and Lady Saw.
"I think Best of the Best is dancehall's premiere concert series," reggae artist Shaggy, who headlined the festival in 2007, said. "It promotes dancehall to the masses and every year it continues to evolve and set the highest standard in that respect. It's awesome to come back and perform for the holiday crowd this Memorial Day weekend."
