The annual Soundset festival, helmed by the folks over at Rhymesayers Entertainment, will take place May 30 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. The bill is a true celebration of hip-hop and features a great balance of heavy hitters, respected underground heads and intriguing up-and-comers on two stages over nine hours. Rhymesayers tastemakers Atmosphere will lead the charge as headliners for a third year in a row. Other big guns include Method Man and Redman, Freeway and Jake One and members of the Hieroglyphics crew like Del the Funky Homosapien, Casual, Souls of Mischief and Pep Love. Indie fans will gravitate towards Brother Ali, Eyedea and Abilities, Murs, Busdriver, Cage, Themselves and People Under the Stairs.
If that's not stacked enough, attendees will also get sets from some of most buzzed about youngins including the recently Interscope-crowned Yelawolf, Wiz Khalifa and Fashawn. Other entertainment includes a DJ tent with breakdancing, live painting exhibitions, a skate demo area, Slow and Low custom car show and a production showcase. So, yeah, it's about as jam-packed as a day of entertainment can get. Tickets go on sale on April 2.
