Fresh off the release of her latest video 'Window Seat' songstress Erykah Badu may face public indecency charges for stripping down nude in a public park for a scene in the video. Completed in just one take in her hometown of Dallas, Texas, the 39-year-old shot the video gorilla-style, stripping down to nothing in Dealey Plaza as onlookers stood by. Badu did not have the proper permits to shoot the video and could have been arrested for indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. However, according to Senior Cpl. Janie Crowther, it is unlikely that Badu will be changed with any wrongdoing, due in part to the fact that no witnesses have stepped forward to complain about the event. Also causing controversy is what some believe is a re-enactment of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, who was fatally shot while riding in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza in 1963. After undressing, Badu walks through the public area as gunshots ring out and she falls to the ground as if being shot. She later described the video as being about protest and self-liberation paralleling the response to her artistic exposure to Kennedy's murder.
"I tied it in a way that compared the assassination to the character assassination one would go through after showing his or herself completely," she said in an interview. "That's exactly the action I wanted to display." Another occurrence during the shoot was the presence of minors in the park. "I tried to telepathically communicate my good intent to them. That's all I could do, and I hoped they wouldn't be traumatized." Either way all this talk stirred up a healthy amount of buzz for her album 'New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh,' which is available now. You can watch the NSFW video after the jump.
