Lyfe Jennings Appalled by 'Rival' Raheem DeVaughn

Is that R&B beef we smell? In a recent radio interview with 103 Jamz in Norfolk, Va., thug-crooner Lyfe Jennings called out fellow singer Raheem DeVaughn.

"Somebody had told me that [DeVaughn] issued a challenge," Jennings told the show's host. "He said my name, 'My rival artist Lyfe Jennings,' and I like the homie so ... I was like 'Wow.' I appreciate his music, and I would hope that he appreciate mine, but ... I was appalled and shocked and moved and disorganized for a number of seconds."

The show's host attempted to convince Jennings to engage in the rivalry with DeVaughn, "for the sake of the music," to which Jennings replied that, if a challenge was made, he would "remix [DeVaughn's] whole album." Coincidentally, as soon as Jennings left the station, DeVaughn showed up with his entourage. The two artists were apparently both playing shows in the vicinity that night, and though DeVaughn claimed to only be there to discuss things with Jennings "face to face," he eventually agreed to get on the radio and talk about the situation.

"I received an email from him," DeVaughn explained. "Because of my schedule I wasn't able to get back with him, but I'm reaching out now in the interim. I seen some things in the press, so I'm just waiting to have a conversation with him. That way I can look him in the eye and have clarity on what his thoughts are, what my thoughts are, and keep it moving from there."

DeVaughn then let it drop that he and Jennings will be on the road together this coming summer. "I'm looking forward to doing this tour with him this summer though," he said. "We doing this tour with him, Anthony Hamilton, Jaheim ... We doing 20 dates."

The Grammy-nominated singer went on to state that he and Jennings would iron things out in person shortly. "This is how I feed my family. It's how I feed my kids, pay my mama's mortgage, so I take this seriously, and I'm sure that's what he does ... That's why I said I'll talk to that black man face to face and we'll do that like that."

Sounds like a collaboration album is more likely than fisticuffs between these two. Check the video of the interview here.

I would love to hear these two talented artists do a collab. That would be a number one for sure.
