Toni Braxton Behind on Tax Payments

Is tax trouble becoming the new norm amongst celebrities? Last week it was Faith Evans and this week Toni Braxton is the latest celebrity who's fallen behind on tax payments to Uncle Sam. The singer and her estranged husband Keirston Lewis, who separated last year, owe more than $396,000 in delinquent federal taxes. According to a tax lien filed by the IRS on March 26 in Whitfield County, Ga. Superior Court the couple owes income taxes from 2007 and 2008.

In addition to owing back taxes, Braxton is also facing a number of other financial difficulties. Last year she was sued by City National Bank after defaulting on a loan for $900,000 taken out in 2007. She was also reported to have defaulted on her mortgage payments to Bank of America last year for her California mansion.

Toni Braxton is no stranger to financial hardships; trouble with her finances began back in 1998 when she filed for bankruptcy protection in 1998 with more than $1 million dollars of debt.

In other news, Toni Braxton's new album 'Pulse' was originally scheduled for a February release but was pushed back when seven of the ten songs on the CD were leaked to the Internet. The project is now scheduled to be released on May 4, 2010.

As far as I am concerned the IRS is the most notorious legalized illegal Bulls#!t on the planet. We all go to work everyday, slave away, work overtime (and don't get paid for it if we're exempt) and then these morons come along and decide that they must take X% of my paycheck because they can?! Their entitled to my money that I've gone through hell to make and then if I don't pay them MY MONEY that I made they can send me to jail. BULLS#!T.

I am recently unemployed and the good 'ol IRS just took almost 50% of my severance pay. Now if by chance I am unable to make my mortgage payments my home could possibly be foreclosed. This AFTER they decided to take almost 50% of the money that I WORKED FOR. I say again, BULLS#!T.

Madoff was a greedy JEW Bitches who stole more than anyone in American history. You are bitching about a couple $MIL. His wife spent more than Toni owned decorating her dog house. Example racists: you must WORK to owe income taxes. Toni has a pending divorce, heart disease and an autistic child. She also had a manager who stole $10M. Ala Nick Cage who makes $20M a picture is white and broke. Good old Madoff owes $50 BILLION and stole every penny. Where's your hate for him racists pigs?

Why aren't these singers using an alias/alter ego to still make studio album money. The best cover is H-Town style Chop n Skrew and do singles only. 1 track can actually make you a million dollars! Stop getting mansions and set up a black hollywood and just like time shares rent out your time at affordable pricing as you will also be part owner. It's really not hard, unless you are selfish and greedy!

Why would you have several homes and you don't own them reyet out!? There are other avenues to shelter your high profile revenues. Eye can't feel sorry for her at all because atleast she had an opportunity to have the world hear her music unlike someone of my low profile internet caliber. Eye'm doing good to get a loan to pay back an i.o.u to burger king whom paid for my happy meal at mcdonalds! love you toni but either you still trust the wrong people or you never had a business plan in the first place. remember eye only know of this what eye am reading so excuse my ignorance due to lack of disclosure

1st of all i love toni b which is what this article is about. her amongst other people who think they may be above the average, spend and live life lavishly while high, middle and lower class help her success as well as other people who have a talent.i think they do not count their blessings and spend wisely. instead of a mid size home or paying it off they want several cars and trips and too much ritz. i have no sympathy. and for the last time IT PISS'S ME OFF when obama is mentioned. the SOBS who voted for bushs lame ass, should be the ones to blame. obama came into presidency knowing what he had to deal with after the destruction was made. hes not superman or god.he is trying his best and his term is not over yet.at least he has determination and says things str8 forward. so if you think hes doing a bad job who the hell do u think will do a better job? if u cant find a job/career maybe you arent looking hard enough or you need to enhance your skills.get off your a** and stop looking for hand outs.i come from a very successfull family but success came from hard work. if you make your bed get ready to lay your ass's in it.the choices and decisions you make as an adult you have to learn to live with.

would you all listen to yourselves? It's your narro-mindedness that has hurt this country. why can't any of you just go with right or wrong? why does everything have to be black or white? you racist pigs make me sick. you know, when this country goes to war, every man and woman in the service stand behind each other to the death if needed. yet the very people who inhabit the country they are fighting for, want to quibble like children over the color of their neighbors skin. It saddens me to think that the american people cant get past this. what kind of message are you leaving to our children? they are our future and they will have to fight the battles people like you start. Who's losing here? GROW UP AMERICA !!!!!

THE REASON THAT THE RICH FEEL THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH NOT PAYING TAXES IS FOR TWO RELATED REASONS. THE IRS ONLY CAN AUDIT A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF RETURNS DUE TO STAFFING BUT IN ADDITION THEY SPEND A DISPROPORTIONATE AMOUNT OF THIS TIME TRACKING DOWN PEOPLE EVEN IN THE POOR CATEGORY WHO ONLY OWE A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS AND SPEND MANY WORK HOURS THAT COULD BE USED TO BETTER ADVANTAGE AUDITING HIGH PROFILE AND INTENTIONALLY FRAUDULENT FILINGS. I ASSIST THOSE WHO HAVE LIMITED INCOME AND I KNOW THAT THIS IS TRUE IN THAT REGARD.

I don't understand!
If a hard working employed citizen failed to pay their taxes, the IRS would begin taking automatic deductions from their pay and put a lien on their property.
How and what makes them so special? Pay up or go to jail.
