After eight years, the lawsuit filed by Voletta Wallace, mother of legendary Brooklyn rapper Christopher Wallace, aka Notorious B.I.G., against the city of Los Angeles and the LAPD has been dismissed.B.I.G. was murdered on March 9 1997, after the Soul Train Awards in Los Angeles. Wallace's suit claimed that Death Row Records CEO Marion "Suge" Knight conspired to gun down the rapper, with the aid of LAPD officers Rafael Perez and David Mack.
In 2006, the court awarded Wallace a $1.1 million judgement in the case, a decision which was quickly reversed. The wrongful death suit was dismissed without prejudice by Judge Jacqueline Nguyen on April 5, ending the eight-year court battle.
