Chris Brown to Headline Haiti Benefit

Chris Brown will host and headline a benefit concert in his home state of Virginia on May 15, with help from a line-up of artists which includes, Trey Songz, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Ryan Leslie, Mario and Juelz Santana.

Proceeds from the charity show -- titled Virginia Stand Up! A Call to Action -- will benefit the Central Virginia Food Bank, and the Greater Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross, which provided relief to Haiti in the midst of the recent earthquake tragedy. Fans who attend the all-star benefit are also encouraged to bring along and donate non-perishable food items to both charities.

Brown recently issued a statement explaining that the benefit was his attempt to give back to his community and to those still suffering in Haiti. "I wanted to find a way to contribute personally to the ongoing Haitian relief effort and also support an organization that helps people in need in my home state," Brown said. "The images I see on television, both in my community and in Haiti, remind me that everyone has to do their part." Additional performers at the benefit concert will be announced as the date approaches.

The 20-year-old singer lent his support to the Haitian relief effort earlier in the year with a performance at BET's "SOS: Help for Haiti" telethon in February. Brown is still serving five year's of probation stemming from his February 2009 arrest after assaulting ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. He will appear in court again on May 11.
