Grace Jones Says Lady Gaga is 'Copying' Her Style

Lady Gaga's eclectic style and out-of-this world antics have captured the hearts of fans across the globe, but the eccentric pop star has been rubbing some fellow artists the wrong way. Just last week, British rapper, M.I.A. spewed some nasty words about Gaga, calling her "a good mimic" and explaining that her style was "not progressive."

M.I.A. accused Gaga of jocking her style, and it seems like she's not the only one who feels that way. In a recent interview with the UK Guardian, the iconic Grace Jones expressed some similar sentiments about the pop star. "Well, you know, I've seen some things she's worn that I've worn, and that does kind of piss me off." Jones said.

When asked if Gaga had reached out to work with her, Jones said yes, but explained that she never considered it even for a second. "Yes, she did, but I said no," Jones said. "I'd just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually.

The Jamaican-born legend went on to explain that Gaga and her antics did not occupy any space in her thoughts, saying, "I really don't think of her at all. I go about my business." You can bet that Grace Jones won't be catching a live performance anytime soon. In response to a final query about Gaga's talent, she expressed her distaste as simply as she could. "I wouldn't go to see her," she said.

Whites always copy Blacks and everyone else style and they always believe that THEY created it. I mean seriously think about it? Who would whites be if they didn't steal..... What else is new? But they will continue to steal and get MORE famous for it because their whites and being marketed bigger. They also will always try to downplay their thievery by saying things like "imitation is flattery" and paying "homage". But at the end of the day their just flat out NOT creative.

uh what?! why in the heck would lady gaga copy grace jones of all people?...so basically grace is saying i cant wear my black shirt because it is similar to the one she wore 2,000 years ago because i will be copying her? i cant stand the same way she did on stage...because...for some odd reason now that stance belongs to her for enternity? get over yourself MS JONES!!!!! really?!.

And by the way...Do NOT flatter yourself into thinking that Lady Gaga is copying your OLD ASS.....She's a young lady with her own style and a beautiful voice and PERFORMANCE...I am over 50 and I was never impressed by YOU at any moment in my youthfull years....That says a lot!!!! Lady Gaga, Go ahead and do your thing, I have 2 teenage daughters that love your style.....

Grace Jones USED to be good singer, but now she is old, resentful and part of he Studio 54's memories. She needs accept that her place is Vegas like the old singers.
Time goes by so fast and now is LADY GAGA's time. She is talented, pretty, charismatic, intelligent, and good singer. Her style is different and better than the Miss Jones.
Who entitled Miss Jones that she is the owner of that style?????? HELLOOOOOOO.
