Sean "Diddy" Combs was carted off to prison last week but it wasn't to serve time, it was to visit rapper Lil Wayne. According to reports Diddy took the trip out to New York's Riker's Island prison last Wednesday (April 28) to visit Weezy, who is away serving a one-year sentence for gun possession. Diddy apparently opted out of his usual luxurious style and hopped on the prison bus taken by other visitors. The hip-hop mogul is on a list of Wayne's approved visitors and was permitted to speak with the New Orleans native for one hour, sources revealed. While there is no word on the topic of conversation, one thing the two have in common is hyped Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj. Diddy recently took up managing the femcee signed to Lil Wayne's label.
Weezy has been quietly serving his time at the Eric M. Taylor compound since March. Although the 27-year-old has been keeping in touch with the outside world via the web, a prison guard was allegedly fired for spying on the Grammy winner. Amelia Negron revealed in an interview the she was forced to confess to checking in on Wayne. "I don't even like rap," Negron said of the allegations. "I like rock and alternative music and didn't know much about him when they said I tried to see him. None of it is true." In the light of the claims, Negron is reportedly planning to seek legal action against her former employers. Wayne is due to be released in November.
