Eminem has temporarily satiated the appetite of impatient fans with the release of his new single 'Not Afraid' from the upcoming album, 'Recovery,' but Shady has also been tending to some unfinished business this past week.Nielsen Entertainment President Eric Weinberg and Retail Relations Vice President Chris Muratore recently presented Eminem with his official plaque for 'Artist of the Decade' -- an achievement that was originally announced at the end of 2009. Eminem was joined by Interscope Chairman Jimmy Iovine and Vice President Steve Berman, in addition to Dr. Dre and his manager Paul Rosenberg when he accepted the hallmark award.
Back in December, Nielsen Soundscan declared Eminem as the bestselling artist of the decade after calculating record sales. According to Nielsen, the Detroit emcee has racked up over 32 million album sales in the past ten years, beating out second and third place contenders, the Beatles and Tim McGraw, by over 2 million units. Eminem's 2000 album, 'The Marshall Mathers LP' and 2002's 'The Eminem Show,' sold 10.2 million and 9.8 million copies respectively, cementing themselves at numbers four and five on the bestseller list. This made Slim Shady the first artist to ever land two albums in the same category.
Eminem's seventh solo album, 'Recovery' is scheduled for a June 22 release.
