Jay-Z Joins Dr. Dre in Headphones Retail Market

With the successful launch of Monster's Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, another rapper is looking to get into the earpiece game. Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z's company, Roc Nation, is linking with Skullcandy headphones to release a new line of listening equipment. The first item to come out of the venture will be the Roc Nation Aviator, which sports a much more vintage frame than Dre's sleek futuristic set.

"Our passion is creating amazing music," Jay-Z said in a statement. "We're dedicated to delivering the best in live performances. Now with the Roc Nation/Skullcandy partnership, we're offering the best way for people to experience the soundtrack of their lives."

Using the "superior metals" usually allotted for sturdy eyewear, the headphones boast top of the line technology that will increase clarity for amplified sonic enjoyment. "This partnership is an incredible opportunity for Skullcandy," added Skullcandy CEO Rick Alden. "By teaming up with Roc Nation on both the creative and marketing direction of these products, we are able to set the bar at a new high -- challenging the future quality of what emerges in the industry from here on out."

Roc Nation Aviator headphones hit stores this June. According to a spokesperson for the company, the headphones will be available in three colors -- black, brown and white -- and will retail for $149.

What has he to do with music? The crap he puts out is not music. He isn't a musician either. The noise accompanying his juvenile ryhmes is noise not music. He is too ugly to even have his grill shown at all.

Lol funny how people turn..Hers the think jay came from the streets and he found away out and he aint never turned back. Can i say I agree with things he has done to people and friends no. Do I still enjoy his music sometimes and his original stuff e is a hustler at heart and just because he got a legal hustle and never sleeps on earning for him and his fam I cant hate on him..Can he still ryhme? I dont know only Jay knows and maybe when he sits and thinks he will give his original fans some of that old from the get Unreasonable Doubt hunger again. But because he is doing big things. I don't hate on him let the man do what he built you don't have to luv him or listen to him just give him credit for chnaging his life and changing how emcees can open doors. No more no less..So Jigga eat well and keep the hustle going..ps give us a reminder of what made you...

Jay-Z starts new businesses all the time not because he needs the money, but because he wants to have more excuses to take hard-working middle class average people to court. Look up his record. He has taken to court people all over the world over stupid issues, which would never affect him.
