On Tuesday (May 18), Estelle took home a BMI Pop Award for her hit single 'American Boy.' While the track may still be racking up accolades, despite its release two years ago, the British import is thinking about the future and focusing on her upcoming third release, 'All of Me.' Although she kept mum about all of the features on the new album, she did reveal that she will re-team with her labelhead and fellow singer, John Legend. "John is producing the project," she told the The BoomBox. "I think he wrote half the album and I wrote half the album. He's cool. We don't have any fights. He's a Capricorn, I'm a Capricorn ... we figure it out. It works. It just comes together."
For her 'Shine' follow-up, the 30-year-old wants to create her own musical box. "I got sick of staying in different genres," she admitted. "I kind of just went 'I'm going to do everything.' [I wanted] to give people a different taste of different genres, different sides of me as an artist, as a person, as a woman. I think people get the connection confused. Like 'Oh, she's from London -- it's different.' It sure as hell isn't! It's exactly the same!"
'All of Me' drops this September.
