British songstress, Estelle, has teamed with Atlanta's DJ Trauma to release a new mixtape in June. The project, titled '#Ialmostmadeamixtape,' is an eleven-track collaboration that features original songs as well as several covers. The mixtape's lead single, 'Dear London,' features Estelle rhyming over the instrumental from Memphis Bleek's 2005 single 'Dear Summer.' Although the track was released from Bleek's fourth album '534,' it originally features vocals only from Jay-Z.
DJ Trauma issued a statement this week explaining that he was thrilled about having the opportunity to collaborate with the soulful singer. "I am so excited about our collaboration ... Estelle is a talented artist and writer," he said. "Her voice conveys such feeling you barely hear in today's music."
'#Ialmostmadeamixtape' will be followed by the release of Estelle's third album 'All of Me,' later in the year. While she preps her new album, Estelle has continued to work on collaborations with other artists. She recently appeared on the single 'Midnight Hour' from Reflection Eternal's album 'Revolutions Per Minute', and also revealed to The BoomBox that she was eyeing a collaboration with Mary J. Blige. "I love her! I keep saying that," she said. "I've been saying that for a year now, so at some point it's gonna happen."
