Snoop Named President of Serious Pimp Clothing Line

Snoop DoggSnoop Dogg will take on a new executive role this week. On May 29, Tha Doggfather will be named President of Serious Pimp, a clothing and sunglasses line that blends hip-hop and Mixed Martial Arts cultures, with which Snoop has recently become involved. Snoop has been promoting the company's eyewear since last December, while his spiritual advisor and former pimp, Bishop Don "Magic" Juan was appointed Serious Pimp's Chairman of the Board early last week.

The announcement about Snoop's new title is expected to be made at Caesar's Palace before Saturday's Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans UFC match. According to Serious Pimp's CEO Damian Kutzner, Snoop's status in the music industry, combined with Serious Pimp's leverage in the Mixed Martial Arts community will help build Serious Pimp's brand.

"Serious Pimp got its start sponsoring MMA fighters in their bouts," stated Kutzner. "Ironically, 'Rampage' was one of the first fighters we got behind. Snoop Dogg's attendance at this fight shows the company's connection to the past and its vision for the future."

After the fight, the Doggfather will be performing at the LAX Nighclub in celebration of his new title.

First let me say, I'm a white man who has served this country in the United States Marine Corps. I'm from a suburb of Chicago originally and did not have any interactions with any race other than white until I was in high school. I grew up with a stepfather who was from the south and as racist as racist can get. You are what you are raised in, until you get out in the real world and experience life for yourself. I'm not a big fan of rap music, nor do I like a lot of country. I'm rock and roll through and through. I grew up with the mindset of if you're not white, you're not right. Then...I went in the Marines and met some guys from all different nationalities and can honestly say, I would have taken a bullet for them. That being said, I still do not like the kids, black or white who wear their pants down below their asses. Makes no sense to me. I don't condone the "gangsta" mentatility whether it is a white or black person trying to be "all dat". There are men and women of all races that are smart, caring and intellectual people. I applaud those people who have taken the time to get an education and make something of themselves, and not try and get a fast buck by sticking someone up or selling drugs that are ruining are society. As for Snoop Dog, I find him to be somewhat entertaining. I don't care if he smokes dope or not, that's not my concern. I think he's probably smarter that a lot of people want to give him credit for. He's making money, he's had dreams and goals and he's followed through with them. That's more than I can say for a lot of people who are sitting on their butts complaining because everything isn't just handed out to them for free. Just my 2 cents...

Why is it always about race when something like this is posted on AOL? Shit I'm white and I think it's great what snoop is doing. Wake up America, race isn't an issue anymore! We have more important shit to worry about like the war in the Middle East and the oil spill in the Gulf Coast.

Why are these people publicised in the news? That is terrible for our young people to see these Obama type men using drugs right on stage. There are men in prison now with better track records than these ugly man have. Oh well, when a kid doesn't finish school, they turn into rap type people.

Racist aiwlske398???? Saw him on the Leno show when Ron White told a blatantly racist joke and the Dog almost fell off the chair laughing. Not a fan of his style of music(?) but got a big level of respect of him. Oh, by the way I'm a white old guy!!!!

No one cares what color he is, or how much money he has. He is still a street thug, he will never be a respected member of society. The fact that people listen to him and his music just shows how little people care about the education and welfare of their children and community..
