Lil' Kim Disses Wig-Wearing Nicki Minaj?

We knew it was just a matter of time before Lil Kim made reference to Nicki Minaj. Even though the jab was subliminal, during a recent performance in Buffalo, New York, Kim made reference to Minaj biting her wig-wearing style.

While rapping a verse from her 1997 single 'Crush on You,' Lil Kim abruptly pulled off her blonde wig and declared that she was over it. "I'm going to another level," she told the crowd. "I love the wigs and everything but I'm so above this. I'm so above this ... I'll be back!"

Since gaining popularity for her colorful wigs and clever flow, Minaj has been garnering several comparisons to Lil Kim who was known for rocking a similar look. In a possible response to Lil Kim, the 25-year-old, who also just wrapped up an appearance in Buffalo, posted an interesting message on her Twitter page Thursday (June 3). "Raise ya hand if u don't have 2 diss ppl to feel better about urself," she wrote. "Jealousy is a disease. It kills @ a fast pace. Kisses 2 my bad b----es."

Although Minaj has yet to call out Lil Kim specifically, the Queens native credits several female rappers as her inspiration of how not to be. "The female rappers of my day spoke about sex a lot," she told Vibe Magazine. "I thought that to have the success they got, I would have to represent the same thing. When in fact I didn't have to represent the same thing."

Minaj's debut is set to drop later this year, while Kim is also said to be working on new music.

I totally agree with Ty Ty Chick "Nicki Minaj needs to get off her high horse and admit tht she is one and RESPECT the female mc's and rappers that came before her". Never ever could I, as an artist, come up in the game and want to even dispute with someone I CLEARLY idolize. Never would I accuse them of being jealous. She needs to learn to respect her seniors (as in those who came before her). I think that should be a standard rule in the music biz. That's like Chris Brown coming at Michael Jackson or Keyshia Cole coming at Mary J. It just doesn't make sense to me. She needs to quit it. I honestly believe her record sales SHOULD decline as a result of her ignorance.

Okay...Nicki Minaj is okay and i only say tht becasue i respect her as an artist of my generation, but I disagree with that Vibe magazine statment in that last paragraph, saying that she doesn't represent sex. Oh Please, Nicki Minaj knows that she uses sex to her advantage..she may be a rapper..not an mc..but a rapper, but she is also a sex symbol as well, just as Lil Kim, Foxy, etc. were ( aka. the women rappers in "her" day). There's no problem with being one, I mean it just helps boost you image a little bit more, but Nicki Minaj needs to get off her high horse and admit tht she is one and RESPECT the female mc's and rappers that came before her. Lil' Kim does it wayy better than she does and Nicki Minaj should never EVER be compared to her..NEVER.

Kim mad cuz she was and nicki is right now. It's like 90s bad boy again with big (r.i.p) and kim replaced by ross and minaj. Kim just hasn't adjusted well, puff moved on and found the new one. He's on to the next on and movies is his new shit, get him to the greek better be funny
