Crime Mob's Diamond Signs to Battery Records

Ex-Crime Mob member Diamond is ready to go solo. Fresh off the success of her appearance on Ludacris' remix to 'My Chick Bad' and a handful of independently released mixtapes, Diamond has announced that she's signed with Sony Records imprint Battery Records to release her official debut album.

'I'm very excited about joining the Battery/Jive family and know we are going to make a lot of great music together', she stated in a press release. 'This move will definitely provide the platform for me to continue making great music for my fans, and to continue repping for the females!'

The 22-year-old rapstress plans to release her debut solo single 'Lotta Money' next month before dropping her first solo album on the imprint, which also recently added Mickey Factz to its roster last month.

'We welcome Diamond to the Battery family', said Neil Levine, general manager and senior vice president of Battery Records. 'Her ability to constantly evolve makes her an exciting and remarkable artist that has proven that she can shine as a solo artist. We look forward to introducing Diamond and her new single 'Lotta Money' to the world'.

Diamond first entered the rap world as one-sixth of Atlanta-based crunk collective Crime Mob, appearing on their eponymous 2004 debut that spawned the platinum single 'Knuck If You Buck' featuring Lil' Scrappy. Diamond left the group in '07 to pursue a solo career, releasing the successful three-part 'Bitch Muzik' series and '09's 'P.M.S. (Pardon My Swag).'
